We left Wall SD this morning with the weather great. Not too hot and not too cold. We got as far as Albert Lea MN and decided we rode enough miles for one day. So close to home and yet so far. We splurged for dinner at Perkins and ate until we couldn't move. :-)
We leave for Milwaukee in the morning and I can't wait to sleep in our bed......even though tonight we got a great deal on a great room. I hagled with the desk clerk until she gave me a price I liked. LOL. 59 dollars for a big room with a king size bed, pool, hot tub and a free breakfast. Yippee!!
Milwaukee?? Here we come, ready or not!!

On Our Way Home!

We're on our way home!! We left Cody this morning after a breakfast at the resturant our friend Tims family owns, added a quart of oil to the bike and away we went. It was in the 90's again today which made the ride a tough one again. We got as far as Wall SD before we decided to find a place to sleep. We found a nice place and showered and ate and in the morning we'll head again to Milwaukee. Tim wants to make a straight ride of it. Almost 700 miles....I would like to stop somewhere and rest for the night, it's way too long for me!
We're hoping for nice weather, I can handle the heat as long as there's no rain..
So until tomorrow...
I miss and love you all!
ps..the picture was taken close to the Wyoming, South Dakota border

We Made It!!

Today started off a little chilly. We headed early to Glacier National Park. It was beautiful the parts of it I actually looked at. Most of my pictures were taken while not looking down. Tim Told me the scenery was really beautiful, so I'll trust him on that. It's undergoing a major reconstruction of the roads near the top, and we had to travel through dirt roads many with no barrier to the 3000 foot drop on the other side... To say it was scarly is putting it mildly.
After the mountain ride we headed to Helena Mt, an almost 5 hour ride. For a while there it felt like we were in the twilight zone. We'd go more than a half an hour without seeing a single car, all you saw was, cattle, horses, hills, repeat...
Tomorrow we head back to Cody, to stay the night and then head for home!
Here's a few pictures I took today, they don't do the mountains justice, they were so beautiful!
See you soon!
One More Thing
I've decided that people drive crazy in Montana. The roads are dotted with crosses that mark the spots where someone has died in a traffic accident, some area have up to 6 crosses, one for each person. Now I can see why. The speed limit is 25 for a mile or so in the middle of town here, then the roads in the rest of the city are 55mph. Crazy!!! The speed limit in the mountains is 50 or more.
I think bad drivers come to Montana when they die. The place is full of crazy drivers! Not to worry we are being extra careful!
We are having a great time and seeing so many beautiful things along the way!

Tomorrow "Going To The Sun Road"

Yup that's what the road is called. In Glacier National Park, it's high in the mountains which means I would really rather not do this. Seeing how I hate heights. Its 52 miles of winding turns in the mountains here. We're doing that in the morning then off to Helena where we are going to spend the night before heading back to Cody Wyoming for a night then off to home!
Here's a few pictures of the way into Glacier National Park..
I really do miss my family and my own bed!

Oh where, oh where has my WiFi gone?
Getting a signal anywhere during this trip has been a real chalange. We go to hotels that have it and it's down, or where so far away from the main office I can't get a signal...
Yesterday we traveled from Cody to Seeley Lake, Montana. It was an almost 9 hour ride.............yech...
We just got settled in a hotel in Kalispell, Montana, we're now going to head out to Glacier National Park, it's about 30 miles away from here. I'll update with pictures and more to write about later tonight...
This trip has been great, but I really miss my family and my own soft bed.
Until Next Time!

Thermopolis

Yesterday we took a ride to Thermopolis where they have the worlds largest hotsprings. We went to a pool that uses the water from the hot springs it's suppose to cure whatever ailes you with all the minerals it has in its water. The clouds in the picture is what we faced when we left. Not a pretty picture. We got lucky and only got drizzled on for a bit a couple of times. I was scared. Tim is much braver than me when it comes to driving in the storms.
Tomorrow we leave for the Glacier National Park. It's goes through Yellowstone into Montana and it goes along the Canadian border. If we would have thought this out and got our passports we could have gone into Canada. It's a two or three day trip though the mountains so I'm not sure if I"ll be able to do much on the laptop but I'll bring it along just in case. Soon the snow might be falling in the mountains so this might be a cold trip as well....
See you soon. Love you all.
PS Jen I hope you liked the cow ;-)
